Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
BestPath is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity, and to implement effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
1. Organisation Structure, Business, and Supply Chains
BestPath is a specialist consultancy providing network, security and technology advisory services to public and private sector clients. Our services include strategy, design, assurance and lifecycle support for IT and digital infrastructure.
We operate primarily within the UK and work with a limited, professional supply chain that includes:
- Technology vendors and distributors.
- Subcontract consultants and associates.
- Professional services providers (e.g. legal, finance, HR).
- Business support services.
Our supply chains are relatively short and low-risk compared to manufacturing or labour‑intensive industries; however, we recognise that risks may still exist, particularly where goods or services originate overseas or involve third‑party labour.
2. Policies
BestPath maintains policies and principles that support our commitment to preventing modern slavery, including:
- Our company handbook outlines expected ethical standards and behaviours.
- Procurement and supplier engagement principles that promote responsible sourcing.
- Whistleblowing arrangements enabling concerns to be raised confidentially.
- Equality, diversity and fair treatment commitments.
These policies are reviewed periodically and are communicated to employees, associates and relevant suppliers as appropriate.
3. Risk Assessment
BestPath undertakes proportionate risk assessments to identify and evaluate the potential for modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
Risk considerations include:
- The nature and location of suppliers and subcontractors.
- The use of temporary, contract or offshore labour.
- Sector‑specific or geographic risk indicators.
- Equality, diversity and fair treatment commitments.
Based on our current assessment, the overall risk of modern slavery within BestPath’s direct operations is low. Residual risk is most likely to arise indirectly through extended supply chains of technology vendors or overseas service providers.
4. Due Diligence and Actions to Address Risk
To mitigate identified risks, BestPath applies due diligence measures that are proportionate to the size and nature of our business, including:
- Conducting supplier onboarding checks and requesting confirmation of compliance with modern slavery legislation where appropriate.
- Reviewing supplier relationships periodically, particularly where risk profiles change.
Where concerns are identified, BestPath will engage with the supplier to seek remediation and may terminate the relationship if issues cannot be adequately addressed.
5. Training and Awareness
BestPath is committed to ensuring that relevant personnel understand the risks of modern slavery and their role in preventing it. This includes:
- Providing awareness training to employees and regular associates.
- Ensuring leadership understands legal obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- Encouraging a culture where ethical concerns can be raised without fear of reprisal.
Training and awareness activities are reviewed and updated in line with changes to legislation or risk exposure.
6. Goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
BestPath will measure the effectiveness of its approach to modern slavery through the following goals and KPIs:
Goals
- Maintain a low‑risk profile across all business operations.
- Improve visibility and transparency within our supply chains.
- Strengthen supplier engagement on ethical and responsible practices.
KPIs
- 100% of new key suppliers are subject to proportionate modern slavery due diligence.
- Annual review of this Modern Slavery Statement.
- Zero substantiated incidents of modern slavery within BestPath operations.
- Completion of periodic awareness activity for relevant staff.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will refine our approach as our business, supply chains and regulatory expectations evolve.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes BestPath’s modern slavery and human trafficking statement.
